I would just tell him to enjoy his childhood and when he is 18 he can make up his own mind about it but until then he has to listen to you.
I was actually thinking about this for myself, my wife and I are talking about having a baby in 2 years, I was wondering what kind of crap they are going to be sending my kid, my wife and I are Catholic, so my children will be raised Catholic, but when they are 18 if they want to join a cult its up to them.

i ask this because i have two or three that know my stand on things, but am unsure of how to go about getting on the offensive with them, about the wts.
they are reasonable people, and i think if i could just plant the seeds in the right way, it may get them thinking.
so, i'm asking if anyone here has any real experience doing the same with ones they consider "friends" who either are still or were in the org at one time.. j
I have a really good friend who still is, I think since I was never baptized its ok for him to talk to me, but we know each others views and beliefs and respect each other so we don't really talk about that too much, just cars and beer, kind of stuff.
i've been on plenty of jcs but i never was the target of the elders, judicially.....although i would be now.

i was on a mad-dash daytrip to edinburgh today, and in the morning we were up on the royal mile.
being the fringe we quickly attracted about eight trees' worth of advertising.
most of the people flyering were dressed in costumes or in t-shirts advertising the shows, but some were in ordinary clothes.
I too live in the Los Angeles area and there is nothing more funny than running into one of those Scientologist while drunk in Hollywood at around 12 am, the last time I was telling the dude that I was L. Ron Hubbbard and that I have come back to earth to collect all the book sales money, so just write me a check right now and I won't destroy all of you!

Ok I think some of you heard my story about what happend to me back when I was 15, anyway long story short, I was accused of looking at some young sisters breasts, and there was a meeting with Elders, my dad and that girl, her mom and sister.
I was not baptized, but they still announced that I was bad association for the youth. Is this right?
Anyway, I was thinking about this, what if you were one who was Public Reproofed, I think it would be really awesome to take out an ad in the paper (one of those free ads) and just explain that you are a member of the JW's and your story and that if you are seen in public you are to be shunned, I think bad press is good press.

second, (your imagination) sorry on this one it was a group of friends, I was not the first who noticed it, we all heard it on the tape, and not just once and awhile but pretty much the whole time I was inside the church.
I don't claim to be an expert or anything in the supernatural, but just as I believe in good, I also believe in the existence of evil. I am not saying I am like a DUB thinking that everything is demon related. I try to keep an open mind about things. Maybe we can't prove today that they are real or not, but if you went back a few hundred years and said that there are microorganisms that we can not see with the naked eye, people would have thought you were crazy.
Ever see that movie The Others, that is kind of how I feel about it maybe, sometimes the world of the living trespasses with the world of the dead, maybe it happens more than we know and just maybe some of us are more sensitive to it.
